Add an ERC-20 to the System
The Custody Infrastructure system allows adding ERC-20 coins to Impenetrable Vault, in both Cold-driven and MPC-driven modes. In Cold-Driven mode the coin is added directly to the Impenetrable Vault.

Both the Impenetrable Vault and the Desktop app include a list of preset ERC-20 coins that can be loaded automatically into the system. If a coin is not included in this list, you can add a new coin manually.
Both scenarios are described below.
Only admin users can activate ERC20 coins.
Version 17 now supports up to 999 EVMs, ERC-20s and TRC-20s coins on the system, effectively removing the limitations present in previous versions.
The Custody Infrastructure solution comes with many preset ERC-20 options, that just need an admin to activate them on the system. To load an ERC-20 token:
Log in to the cold vault.
Navigate to Coin Management.
Click Create ERC20. The Add ERC20 window opens.
Click Load. A list of preloaded tokens opens.
Select the desired token from the list. The system populates many of the new token fields using predefined information.
Fill all remaining blank fields:
- EVM - The network of the ERC20 token.
- Gas Limit - Insert 2100 for regular transfers, however, it should be a much higher limit for smart contracts; 800000-2000000, depending on the EVM.
- Cold Max Fee.
- MPC Max Fee.
- System Max Fee - The max fee for transactions between two system addresses.
- Price in Fiat - decided by the market.
Click add. The new token appears listed on the ERC20 tab.
Click Save.
Complete the required approval process.
The admin needs to add a new ERC20 token, not included on the preset list. To add a new ERC-20:
Log in to the Cold Vault.
Navigate to Coin Management.
Click Create ERC20. The Add ERC20 Token window opens.
Fill in all the fields:
- Name - Give the name of the token.
- Symbol - Symbol of the Token.
- EVM - The network of the ERC-20 token.
- Address - Smart contract address of the ERC-20.
- Gas Limit - Insert 2100 for regular transfers, however, it should be a much higher limit for smart contracts; 800000-2000000, depending on the EVM.
- Cold Max Fee.
- MPC Max Fee.
- System Max Fee - The max fee for transactions between two system addresses.
- Price in Fiat - decided by the market.
- Decimal - we can check the Decimal part on the explorer site of that EVM according to the specific address of that ERC-20 token.
Click add. The new token appears listed on the ERC-20 tab.
Click Save.
Complete the required approval process.
Confirming the New Token
After being properly configured, the new token will appear in the desktop and mobile app, both on the dashboard and in the Coin Management areas.
