MPC Approval Workflows
Approval workflows are rules and conditions that apply policies to different situations and control how transactions are approved and processed. Workflows are used for both administrative changes and transactions. Any administrative change or transaction in the system needs a certain number of approvals based on a policy. The approvals can come from different groups of users. A workflow can have up to 8 groups of users.
View the Approval Workflows

The following information is displayed for the approval workflows defined in the system:
- Name: The identifying name of the workflow.
- Type: A workflow can be of either administrative or transaction type.
- Administrative type is used for change requests to policies based on their sensitivity. Only users with admin permissions (set through role configuration) can participate in the approver quorum.
- Transaction type approves transactions before they are authorized, signed, and broadcasted to the Blockchain. Permission to "approve" transactions is set in transaction policies.
- Approver Groups: The number of approver groups set for the workflow. Mouse over to view a list.
- Required Approvers: The number of approvers set as required for the workflow. Mouse over to view a list.
- Policies Connected: The number of policies connected to the workflow. Mouse over to view a list.
- Last Updated: The date and time of the last time that the item was updated.
Hovering on a row displays buttons for editing and deleting.
Create a New Approval Workflow
Click the + button at the top right corner of the screen to open the Create Approval workflow window.
Enter the following information:
- Name: Name of the workflow. The name should explain in general what this workflow is for. For example, "Min 2 approvers for transactions of up to $100K".
- Type: Choose the scope of the workflow as either Transaction or Administrative.
- Click on Add Approver Group to add the approvers as individual users or existing groups.
- Available approvers indicate the sum of all users set in an approver group including individuals or those in groups. Required approvers set the number of approvers required for the request to be approved. To set the Required number of approvers, open the drop-down list and choose the number. Note: “One vote per approver” is a situation where if an individual is both part of a selected approver group and selected as an individual approver, their approval will only be counted 1 time. For example, if "John Smith" is a member of Group A which is set as an approver group and John is also added as a required individual approver, he will only be able to approve once.
- To add additional groups, click on Add Approver Group again and repeat the steps above. You can add up to eight approver groups.
When done click the Create button.

Approval workflow can be seen also from the Transaction policy that is attached to that Transaction policy.
