Transaction Policy Creation and Management
This article describes how to create transaction policies on the Impenetrable Vault. We will focus on configuring a transfer policy as an illustrative example.
When the system is in uMPC-driven mode, uMPC-related policies are managed directly on the uMPC.
To create a policy on the Impenetrable Vault:
Log in to the Impenetrable Vault as an admin user.
Go to the Policy Management page and click Add New Policy.
Select the Transfer and Cold/MPC/Cold&MPC option.

Create a specific policy by selecting the From and To addresses. You can utilize Address groups for the To addresses. You can specify one or more wallets (in segregated accounts) to apply policy with more granularity.

Select currencies the policy should apply to. The All currencies option applies the policy to every currency.

Select the Smart Contract option to call smart contract functions.
Select the CashBox option to allow the creation of cashboxes under this policy.
Click Next.
Specify the policy's initiators. these can be individual users or user groups.

Click Next.
Configure the Frequency. This can be daily, weekly, or monthly. The policy determines the period of time over which limits are assessed.
Frequency is a rolling window looking backwards from the moment of transaction. If you send a transaction at 9 in the morning, a policy with a daily frequency will check your activity back to 9 am the previous day.
Configure the ranges. Different workflows can be configured for different ranges of the same policy. For example:
- 0-$100,000 - No approvals required
- $100,000 to ~ - Requires two approvals
In the top example, only one range is used. The bottom example shows a policy with multiple ranges.

Click Next to review the policy.
Click Save.
- There should not be any conflict between two different policies (e.g. the same From / To addresses, or the currencies) to create the policy successfully
- To see all policy-enabled contacts, please go to Contacts on the Desktop and check Show only policy-enabled contacts.
