WalletConnect in the iOS app
The iOS app links and interfaces with the WalletConnect platform. WalletConnect allows users to connect their wallet to a Web3 dApp and website (like DeFi platforms, NFT marketplaces, or games) without exposing their private keys. This is like logging into a website using “Sign in with Google”, except instead of your Google account, you’re securely connecting your wallet.
Prerequisites
- A transaction QR code ready for the action you want to perform with the wallet.
- A Transaction policy that allows you to perform this action.
Connect a wallet to the WalletConnect platform
To connect your wallet to WalletConnect and send a transaction:
In the iOS mobile app Home screen, select the Wallets layout and choose a wallet.
Select the WalletConnect icon in the top right corner. The QR scanner opens.
Ensure you have set up the action you want to perform, for example, a swap or to buy an NFT and have the QR code ready. Scan the QR code for the WalletConnect dApp you want to connect to.

The Connect Wallet pane opens. Ensure that the dApp you want to connect to is safe. A warning may appear if the domain is considered suscpicious. Select Connect.

The transaction opens in the Pending Activity screen. Instead of the Slider used to approve a regular transaction, you must first view the details. Select View. The Transaction Details screen opens.
The Transaction Details also lists the DeFi simulation probable fees and costs this transaction requires. This helps the approver decide if this transaction should be approved or not.

Select Send transaction. Once the transaction is sent, it must still be approved by verifiers according to the relevant transaction policy.
Alternatively, select Dismiss to decline the transaction.
Signature requests
Requests to sign a message or typed data can be received. To approve the request, select Confirm or to reject it, select Dismiss.

Disconnect from the dApp
When you have completed your actions and want to disconnect the wallet from the dApp:
- In the wallet, select the WalletConnect icon. The Disconnect Wallet pane opens.
- Select Disconnect.

Network Not Found on Your Account
If the token or coin you want to use for a transaction doesn't exist on your account, the Connect Wallet pane lists the ChainId of networks that support the token or coin. Use this list to identify a network you can add to your account in order to use the token or coin.
