Add an EVM to the system
The Custody Infrastructure system allows adding EVM coins to Impenetrable Vault, in both Cold-driven and MPC-driven modes. In Cold-Driven mode the coin is added directly to the Impenetrable Vault.

The Impenetrable Vault includes a list of preset EVM coins that can be loaded automatically into the system. If a coin is not included in this list, you can add a new coin manually.
Both scenarios are described below.
Only admin users can activate EVM coins.
Version 17 now supports up to 999 EVMs, ERC-20s and TRC-20s coins on the system, effectively removing the limitations present in previous versions.
To add a new EVM to the system:
- Log into the cold vault as an admin.
- Click Create EVM on the Coin Management panel. The Add EVM Coin dialog opens.
From here, predefined EVMs can be loaded onto the system and new EVMs can be defined.
Custody Infrastructure provides the cold vault with a number of predefined EVMs that just need to be loaded onto the system via the Add EVM Coin dialog.
- Click Load. A pre-populated list of EVM coins opens.
- Check the list.
- If the desired coin is not listed, click cancel and proceed to Adding an Undefined EVM.
- If the desired coin is on the list, continue with step 3.
- Click Load. The Name, Symbol, Chain ID, and EIP Type fields automatically populate in the Add EVM Coin dialog.
- Fill in the remaining empty fields:
- Gas Limit
- Cold Max Fee
- MPC Max Fee
- System Max Fee - This is the maximum fee you are willing to pay for transactions between two system addresses (e.g. Collector and Auto Balancing actions).
- Price in Fiat
- Node URL (Check https://chainlist.org/)
- Click Add.
- Go through the required approval process.
- Check the main dashboard and verify the EVM appears.
Some EVMs are not fully compatible. For these you will have to get code from Custody Infrastructure to complete the adding process.
To define a new EVM on the system:
- Fill in all fields on the Add EMV Coin dialog.
- Name
- Symbol
- Gas Limit
- Cold Max Fee
- MPC Max Fee
- System Max Fee - This is the maximum fee you are willing to pay for transactions between two system addresses (e.g. Collector and Auto Balancing actions).
- Price in Fiat
- Chain ID
- Node URL (Check https://chainlist.org/)
- EIP Type
- Click Add.
- Go through the required approval process.
- Check the main dashboard and verify the EVM appears.
Confirming the New EVM
After being properly configured, the new EVM will appear in the desktop and mobile app, both on the dashboard and in the Coin Managment areas.
