Adding a Local User
Before adding a new user, ensure the following are present in the room with the cold vault:
A system admin
The prospective user
The prospective user's mobile device
A pen and paper
Adding a non-admin new user
Click Add new user to get to the 'User setup' window.
- Input the user's first and last name.
- Input the user's email address.
- Set whether the user will have access to only the MPC or both the MPC and Cold vault.
- Click OK.
- Set the user's password.
After the password is set, a warning screen appears.
After pressing continue, the user is prompted to register their Galaxy Custody Mobile app on the MPC and (when configured) the cold vault.
- Scan the QR on the cold vault.
- Scan the OTP QR code on the cold vault.
- Input the code on the phone into the cold vault.
- Click Authenticate.
The new user is added to the table of users (given that the addition of new users does not require the execution of an approval workflow). The user can connect to the system via the mobile app, and (if permitted) to the cold vault.
A user created for API calls must be limited to API usage only. The QR code of the created API user must be scanned by a regular mobile camera and saved in a .txt format while completing the user creation process without scanning the QR code by the Galaxy Custody Mobile app.
Setup of a new user
The default group (unassigned group) and role of a new user must be updated. Until properly configured, a new user cannot initiate any transactions.
